Scions of Everlight is the current
incarnation of a refuge previously known as the Hedge of
Its roots lie in Kryta, many
years before the awakening of the elder dragons. Not long after
Orr sank beneath the waters of the Sea of Sorrows, a "magician"
by the name of Vincent Borius left Istan under questionable
circumstances. He eventually found himself deep in the Maguuma
Jungle, where he came across a tract of land he chose to serve
as his hideout, calling it the Hedge of Everlight. He brought on
a few people to aid him in his enterprises, living quietly in
the jungle until such time that his hideout was discovered. At
that point, the Hedge relocated to a small private island near
the Battle Isles and served as a sanctuary to trusted friends
and allies who desired a safe, quiet place to call home. This
continued for many years until finally, the island was invaded,
causing the group to relocate yet again -- to Kryta. The Hedge
was maintained as a safe haven long after the passing of Vincent
and the other residents, its legacy carried on by their
descendants for hundreds of years.
Recently, due to some
unfortunate financial decisions by one of Vincent's descendants,
the physical location of the Hedge was lost. However, the
residents wished to continue the traditions of the Hedge and so
Vaughn and Blythe Parker, descendants of Vincent's initial
employees, purchased a small inn located in Divinity's Reach.
The inn retains the name Everlight as a tribute to the history
of the group and serves as the current base of operations.
The Hedge maintained a small group of
fighters, beginning during their time on the island, and this is
another tradition that the current owners opted to continue. In an
effort to supplement the income for the inn, the Parkers have
begun to accept tasks from the community, sending whomever in
their employ is best suited for the job. No paying job is turned
away, regardless of the legality or difficulty.
